Palm Valley Fish Camp

Tonight we celebrated my boyfriend’s early birthday at Palm Valley Fish Camp, located in (you guessed it) Palm Valley on the shores of the Intracoastal.  Palm Valley is on the outskirts of Ponte Vedra in St. Johns County.  The restaurant, which has a great water view, is related to Marker 32 and their main focus is seafood.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the Chef is gluten free.  He was able to tell me what was safe to eat and what was not.  I ordered the salmon without the butter topping and they substituted the potatoes and sauteed spinach (which both contain butter and I am dairy free) with green beans and a tomato, cilantro, artichoke salad.  I also ordered the collard greens as a side and they were amazing.  There is a bit of a southern flare to the restaurant, they have grits, okra, fried green tomatoes and etc.  Here is their menu.  Everything was seasoned appropriately and tasted very fresh.  I loved it and was also able to use my Jaguars Teal Deals which expire in February.  Make sure to notify your server prior to ordering so the chef can help accommodate your special diet needs.  In addition, there are not too many non-seafood main entrees so this is not the place for those who don’t eat seafood. Image  Image
